Moodle: Forum summary report and export


How to create a forum summary report:

A forum summary report can give instructors detailed information about a student's discussion, replies, attachments, word count, and more from a forum post. 

1. Open Moodle and go to your desired course. 

2. Click on the forum you wish to get a summary report on.

3. Click on the Admin button (gear icon) located at the top right of your course, then click on Forum summary report

4. Your summary report will appear on the following page. Instructions on how to export forum posts are listed below.

How to export forum posts:

1. Open Moodle and go to your desired course. 

2. Click on the forum you wish to export the post from.

3. Click on the Admin button (gear icon) located at the top right of your course, then click on Forum summary report

4. Your summary report will appear on the following page. To export the forum post, click on the export button located to the right for your specific student.

5. You will be redirected to an export settings page for that specific student where customize your export options.

6. Click Export to download the forum posts.
