1. I already own a Turning Technologies clicker from a previous course, do I need to buy a Turning License?

Yes. Students who purchased clickers in previous semesters will now also need to purchase a license in order for their clicker to allow responses to be tracked (for participation and grades), and so that instructors can run reports from their sessions with student responses.

  • If you need a clicker in addition to a Turning License, you may select a Bundle option (1 or 4 year). This purchase will include a Turning License. You can purchase at the LSU bookstore (check with the bookstore on what types of licenses they have available) or from the online store.
  • If you already own a clicker and only need to purchase a Turning License, choose a 1, 2 or 4 year license (LSU bookstore) or a 1, 2, 3 or 4 year license (online store). You can purchase a license at the LSU bookstore (check with the bookstore on what types of licenses they have available) or from the online store. Each license will come with a mail in rebate of $20.99. The mail in rebate is only for a single license (not a bundle).

2. What are the benefits of using clickers as a student?

  • You answer questions in private – no need for you to raise your hand and be called upon.
  • The answers are collected almost instantly. This allows you and your instructor to make efficient use of your time together in the classroom.
  • The system (TurningPoint Cloud) will give a summary of all the answers submitted after the question ends, giving you and your instructor valuable and immediate feedback. With this feedback, your instructor will know what points need more discussion and explanation, and which points are understood.
