Adding the Academic Engagement Activity (AEA) Tag

Federal Financial Aid regulations require the confirmation of attendance for students to receive federal aid. To meet these regulations, LSU Financial Aid & Scholarships must be able to verify participation in all college courses after the census date, which is the last day for students to add courses or change sections. As an instructor, you are responsible for assigning an academic activity that students must complete by the Census date and tag the assignment in Moodle for reporting purposes in WDS. 

Adding the Academic Engagement Activity tag to a Moodle activity

1. Click My Courses after signing into Moodle. 
   
   
    
2. Select your teaching course. 
   
   
    
3. In the top-right corner, toggle on the Edit mode.
   
   
    
4. Click on the section (or module) where the AEA activity is located. 
   
   
    
5. Locate the AEA activity, and on the right, open the menu button for it. 
   
   
    
6. Click Edit settings.
   
   
    
7. Locate the Tags setting and click on the section to expand it. 
   
   
    
8. Use the drop-down menu to find Academic Engagement Activity (AEA). Click on the tag to add it to the activity. 
   
   
    
9. Click Save and return to course.
