Moodle: Activities & Resources: Adding and Editing a Forum

To Add a Forum Activity:

1. On your course page, click Create learning activity and on the Activities tab, select Forum.
   
   
    
2. Give the forum a name and compose a detailed description with specific instructions. For best practices, see GROK article 20186, Forum Overview.
    
3. On the forum settings page, you can determine the following:
   • forum type (see GROK article 20186)
   • a due date and cut-off date
   • attachment and word count settings
   • subscription method
   • when the discussion is locked to new posts
   • ratings settings [see GROK article 20204, Grading (Rating) a Forum]
   • group settings (see GROK article 20241, Groups and article 20242, Groupings)
   • access restrictions and completion criteria 
4. Click Save and return to course.
