Please Note: Impending LSU Mail and myLSU Synchronization

Currently, the LSU community maintains both LSU Mail and myLSU credentials

  • LSU Mail is used to authenticate into Office 365 services like Outlook and Skype for Business.
  • myLSU credentials are used to authenticate into on-premises services like desktops, lab equipment, and myLSU. 

However, LSU ITS is synchronizing the two accounts so that users will only have to maintain one set of credentials - their myLSU credentials. Please read below for more information regarding the upcoming changes to myLSU and LSUMail:

  • Your department will adapt this change sometime between September and December of 2018
  • After your departmental synchronization you will be prompted to re-authenticate into services currently authenticated via LSU Mail credentials (e.g. Outlook, Skype for Business, Outlook on mobile phones, etc.)
  • Secondary accounts will also be impacted.
    • If the secondary account is used only to access a mailbox, note that the account will still take the myLSU credentials.
    • You may wish to prepare for this change by verifying you still have access to the secondary account's myLSU credentials

Q:  I am having trouble getting the myLSU Portal to open.

A:  The myLSU Portal is a web-based application and may work better in some browsers than others.  We recommend the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.  For more information, please review the ITS Web Browser Recommendations.  Authentication is done through your PAWS ID & PAWS Password, view more information on the LSU PAWS ID (Account). If you continue to have trouble logging into or viewing the myLSU Portal, contact the ITS Help Desk at 225-578-3375 or e-mail helpdesk@lsu.edu.

Q:  Can I add my event information to the front page of the myLSU Portal?

A:  Yes. You can submit ad requests to pawsnews@lsu.edu.  For details on guidelines and measurements, see myLSU Portal: Submitting an Ad.

Q:  Can I give some feedback on how to improve the portal?

A:  Yes. You can give direct feedback using the Feedback button on the front page of myLSU.  For detailed instructions, see myLSU Portal: Add Feedback

  • Also, there is a Portal Advisory Committee (PAC) that reports through the IT Infrastructure & Support Council. The PAC reviews requests for major changes to the portal including proposed integration of new and existing technologies.  To submit requests for changes to this committee, e-mail Sheri Thompson at sjt@lsu.edu.
