Moodle: Activities & Resources: Question Bank - Import Questions

The Quiz activity module allows the teacher to design and build quizzes consisting of a large variety of question types, including multiple choice, true-false, short answer and drag and drop images and text. It is possible to import questions from a file that has been exported.

To Import Quiz Questions in Moodle:

1. Login to Moodle and select your course.
2. In the upper right corner, click on the Admin gear to open the menu, click on Question bank, then click on Questions. 
   
    
3. The Question bank will open. Click on the Import tab.
   
    
4. The next window is where the file can be imported. Choose the correct file format from the list at the top, then click the Choose a file button and locate the question file you want to add. 
   
   Note: The simplest format to use is the Aiken format, which utilizes a .txt file containing formatted questions. To read about how to format Aiken questions, see MoodleDocs: Aiken format.

5. Click Selective import when you are done. The questions will now be imported.
