How Much Does ProctorU Cost?
If a course requires the use of ProctorU, there may be a proctoring fee for the students' use of the service. The amount of this fee will depend on the level of service selected by the instructor. Find information about fees in GROK 20564, ProctorU: Information for Instructors or for students in GROK 20565, ProctorU: Information for Students.

How to Use ProctorU
Using ProctorU in Moodle requires the addition of the ProctorU 1.3 External Tool to a teaching course. All setup and testing can be done through this external tool, including creating an account. For more information on this tool, see GROK 20432, Moodle: ProctorU 1.3 External Tool.
Using ProctorU also requires downloading the Guardian Browser, a full lockdown browser that launches when an exam session begins. For all the technical requirements and more helpful information, ProctorU provides helpful articles and videos on their support site. Both instructors and students can find help with several things, including:
- What to expect when testing
- How to download the Guardian Browser
- System technical requirements
- How to reach ProctorU support
Where to Go For Help
Where to get support depends on what is needed. If you are:
- An instructor having trouble with adding the ProctorU external tool to your course, contact the Faculty Technology Center. The FTC will only support issues with the Moodle tool, and not issues with the ProctorU platform.
- An instructor having trouble setting up/editing an exam, reviewing exam sessions, or working in the ProctorU platform, contact ProctorU support.
- A student having trouble taking your exam, contact ProctorU support.
