MySoft: Fiber Circuit Request

Fiber Circuit Work Order Item

1. In the Work Order items page for the circuit being installed:

In that item, under "Fiber Circuit Request", the required fields are: Fiber Type, Location A, Location B, Connector Types, and Additional Comments.

2. Fiber Type (MMF,SMF,OM4) Field:

•  Type of fiber shall be determined by analyst installing networking gear.

3. End Locations (Room Numbers) - Location A & B Fields:

•  If specific end locations do not exist, create them.
•  DO NOT use a blanket location and then put the location in the General Description Field of the work order item.

4. Connector Types (LC,SC,ST) Field:

•  End connector will be determined by the type of connector needed at the equipment.

5. Additional Comments Field:

• Please include the length of the end jumpers needed as determined by analyst. Circuits will not be completed and certified unless end jumper length is specified in the work order item.
• If a problem arises with the end jumper length and a jumper needs to be changed, the analyst must resubmit the circuit request with corrected end jumper length enter in the MySoft work Order item.
   

NOTE: Please note that the requesting analyst is responsible for slack management of the end jumpers to the Networking equipment.
