Microsoft Outlook 2003: Fixing Corrupt Entries

Problem

This article discusses the issue of being unable to dismiss Outlook's reminder of old appointments, and then receiving a message stating the following:

 "Cannot turn off the reminder. You may be reminded again. Cannot locate recurrence information about this appointment."
 

Solution

The steps below show how to alleviate headaches, pertaining to the fixing of corrupt entries.

1. Open Outlook 2003.

2. Select the Calendar folder.

3. Click the View menu, and highlight Arrange By.

4. Highlight Current View, and select Active Appointments.

5. Locate the corrupt appointment, and Delete it.

6. Restart Outlook 2003.

Note: If unsure of the name of a corrupted entry, try opening some, since damaged appointments typically will not open.
