Internet Explorer: Allowing Pop-Ups for Webmail Access

  

 

In order to log on to your LSU e-mail from a Web browser, you must configure your pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups from the myLSU Portal. If you are using the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, you should be prompted to allow pop-ups when you attempt to log in. If you would like to manually set up your browser to trust the site, follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Trusting Sites in Microsoft Internet Explorer:

1. Open the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web browser

2. Click the settings button in the top right corner of the browser then click Internet options from the drop down menu.

3. Select the Trusted sites icon at the top of the menu and then click the button labeled Sites.

4. This opens the Trusted sites dialog box. Enter "https://www.lsu.edu" in the box labeled Add this Web site to the zone (note the ‘s’ in ‘https’: the ‘s’ is for ‘secure’.) Click on the Add button to include the LSU site on your list. Click the OK button to continue.

5. Try accessing your e-mail and see if your browser allows the pop-up. If not, go back and make sure the address you added was entered correctly.


Trusting Sites in Mozilla Firefox

1. Open the Mozilla Firefox Web browser.

2. In the menu bar at the top of the window, go to Tools>>Options to open the Options dialog box.

3. Select the Content icon at the top of the menu and then click the button labeled Choose.

4. This opens the Allowed Sites – Pop-ups dialog box. Enter "https://www.lsu.edu" in the box labeled Address of Web site: (note the ‘s’ in ‘https’: the ‘s’ is for ‘secure’.) Click on the Allow button to include the LSU site on your list. Click the OK button to continue.
