SNAP: Activities & Resources: Password Protecting a Quiz

Instructors can require students to enter a password to take a quiz. This is helpful if a quiz is assigned to a group of students, instead of the whole class. The student will have to enter the password before they begin.

To Password Protect a Quiz:

1. Log in to Moodle and select your course.

2. For the quiz you want to set a password for, click the pencil icon (edit) under the quiz.

3. Under the Extra restrictions on attempts section, you will notice a ‘Require password’ field. Type in the password in the field. You can select the ‘Unmask’ checkbox if you would like to see what you have typed.
