SNAP: Blocks: Blog Menu Block


Blog Menu

The Blog Menu block allows instructors and students to add blog posts about the course. If the blog is enabled, users can view and add new entries from the Blog Menu block. This block is not associated with any other activity in Moodle.

To Add the Blog Menu Block:

*NOTE: You will need to do these steps if you do not see the Blog Menu block on your Moodle page.

1. Log in to your course on Moodle.

2. Look below the left menu and click on Course Tools.

3. Click on the Edit blocks button on the Course Tools page.

4. Select Blog menu in the Add a Block drop-down box.

5. Once added to the course, users can Add an entry or View entries.

6. Click on Add an entry about this course to add a new entry. Enter a title and entry body. You can add an attachment and choose the Publish setting to either draft form or give 'Anyone on this site' access.

7. You must click on Stop Editing at the top of the course before attempting to return to your main course page.

To Delete the Blog Menu

1. Log in to your course on Moodle.

2. Look below the left menu and click on Course Tools.

3. Click on the Edit blocks button on the Course Tools page.

4. Click the gear icon (Actions) button to the top right of the block and select Delete Blog menu block.

5. You must click on Stop Editing at the top of the course before attempting to return to your main course page.
