SNAP: Gradebook Icons


This article explains the icons found in the gradebook view on Moodle.

 

Icon Descriptions

  • The Grades for (student's name) icon allows the instructor to view all the grades for a specific student. Click on the icon to access this capability. This view allows instructors to see Graded item, Calculated weight, Grade, Range, and Feedback.

  • The Single view for (student's name) icon is found directly to the right of the Grades for (student's name) icon. Click on it to access this capability. This view allows instructors to see Grade itemGrade categoryRangeGrade, and Feedback as well as Override, and Exclude options.

  • The sort in descending order icon is used to view the highest grades of a given assignment near the top of the chart. Once clicked, the icon will change to sort in ascending order. Click this to view the lowest grades near the top of the chart.

  • The Single view for (assignment) icon allows instructors to see the grades of all students for a specific assignment. Click it to access this capability. This view displays First name (Alternate name) Last name of student's and the point Range of the assignment as well as Grade and Feedback input boxes. Instructors can also choose to Override and Exclude the student grades for the assignment.

  • The Change to aggregates only icon condenses the gradebook to include only the student's name, email address, and Course total. The icon changes to Change to grades only. Once clicked, the course grades for all students and assignments will be displayed, but Course total is not. The icon is now Change to full view. Once clicked, the course grades for all students and assignments are displayed as well as the Course total for each student.
