SNAP: Gradebook: Create a New Scale


Scales can be used to evaluate a students' performance. Administrators can create standard scales that can be made available across the site, or custom scales for personal courses.

Creating a New Scale:

1. Log into Moodle and select desired course.

2. At the left of your screen select Course Tools.

3. Once directed to the course tools page, select the Gradebook section towards the middle of the screen.

Note: The Gradebook section can also be accessed by selecting the gear icon (settings) in the upper right of the course. Choose Gradebook Administration from the list.

4. Then select Scales: View from the gradebook drop down box.

5. Click the Add a New Scale button at the bottom of the page.

6. Give your scale a name in the Name box that will identify it among other scales. In the Scale box, create your scale. Each item in the scale should be separated by a comma. You can use        as many options here as you require. You must order the comma separated elements in increasing order of value. Then you can write a detailed description in description box of how the          scale is to be used.

7. Click save changes.
