The Engineering Desktop allows access to the following programs:

Specific Software:

  • AutoCAD 2017: Raster Design, 3ds Max, Civil 3d, Backburner, Vault, Desktop, Inventor, Recap 360, Showcase, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, DWG TrueView, Subassembly Composer
  • ANSYS 17
  • Solidworks 2015

Basic Software:

  • Microsoft Office 2016, Windows Accessories, Symantec Endpoint Protection, VMware, XPS Viewer, Ease of Access.

Extra Software:

  •  Visual Studio 2015

Media Players:

  • Windows Media Player

Web Browsers:

  • Chrome, Internet Explorer.

To Access the Engineering Desktop in VLab 2.0:

1. Open VLab.

2. Login to the LSU Server (for help, use the following article: VLab 2.0: Starting a Session in Windows).

3. Double click vlab2.lsu.edu to login.

4. Select Engineering Desktop from the list.

5. You should now be logged into the Engineering Desktop.
