Moodle 3: Activities & Resources: Pearson MyLab & Mastering Link Settings


Pearson offers integration between Moodle and its MyLab & Mastering products. This integration provides the ability for the instructor and students to log in to Moodle and click a link from the Moodle course to access their MyLab & Mastering experience.

To create the connection to MyLab & Mastering products, instructors will need to add the Pearson block to the course. This will automatically create a link in the top section of the course. Once the link has been added, instructors will be able to configure the textbook information.

Note: Instructors should NEVER delete the Pearson block or the MyLab & Mastering Tools link from their course, as it will cause issues. If an instructor is experiencing issues with Pearson after adding it to the course, please do not delete it. Instead, contact your Pearson representative. If you delete the Pearson block, please contact the FTC.

Add a Link Settings:

Instructors should configure their Pearson MyLab links in the Pearson MyLab & Mastering Tool block.

Launch Presentation Options Settings:

By default, the Pearson link will launch in a new window. If 'Launch in frame' is enabled, the content will appear in the Moodle course.

Common Module Settings:

These settings specify the visibility of the Pearson link for students (Hide/Show).

Restrict Access Settings:

The Pearson link can be restricted based upon a date, group, activity completion of another activity/resource in the course, etc.

NOTE: If more than one restriction is added, students must meet EACH of the requirements before the link becomes available.

Activity Completion Settings:

By default, students can manually mark Pearson as complete, but an instructor can change this to be required. If required, the students can be marked complete by viewing the activity, receiving a grade.

NOTE: This completion will NOT be accurate if the Pearson link contains multiple activities.

Tags Settings:

Tags are keywords that can be added to an activity or resource.
