Moodle 3: Activities & Resources: Add a Forum Discussion Topic

This article provides instructions on how to create a post/add a discussion topic to a discussion forum that has been created in a Moodle course. 

To Add a Forum Discussion Topic in Moodle: 

1. Log into Moodle and click on the title of the course. 

2. Click on the title of the forum you would like to post to.

3. Click the Add a New Discussion Topic button.

Note: This button may not be available in all types of discussion forums. For example, in the Q&A forum type, students will have the option to 'reply' to a question or prompt instead of creating a new discussion topic. 

4. Enter a Discussion Subject and Message in the General settings, and edit other settings if desired.

5. Lastly, select Post to forum.
