Moodle 3: Activities & Resources: Add a Choice

A choice activity is a one-question survey with limited set of answers. Examples of its use are for picking schedule times, self-selecting for group membership, or voting between options. The results can display the participants' names or be anonymous.

To Create a Choice Activity:

1. Login to Moodle and select your course.

2. Turn Editing on by clicking the Edit button at the top right corner of the page.

3. Click Add and activity or resource.

PLEASE NOTE: There are two different ways to complete the next step depending on which view you are in. If you see two separate drop-down boxes, click Add an activity and select Choice.  For more information about this option, view Activity Chooser Options.


4. Select Choice and click Add.

5. Assign a Name to this Choice. Next, fill in the Description text field which describes the choice that students are being asked to make.

6. Personalize the Choice Activity in the Choice Activity Settings.

7. Click Save and Return to Course to finish the process.
