Moodle 3: Blocks: CPS: Instructor of Record

This article has not been updated recently and may contain dated material.

On the mainframe, there is always an official “instructor of record” for each class taught at LSU.  In rare cases, a class can have multiple instructors of record, but there will always be one person who serves as the primary instructor of record.  In the vast majority of cases, there is only one instructor of record per course on the mainframe.

The Instructor of Record... enrolled into the Moodle teaching course with the role of “primary instructor”.

... has their name in the course title.  (The instructor of record’s name is included in the long name of the Moodle course and the instructor of record’s PAWS ID is included in the short name of the Moodle course.)

Therefore, the instructor of record on the mainframe SHOULD always match the primary instructor in the corresponding Moodle course.  All of the course creation, naming, and enrollment of primary instructor and students is handled automatically by the Moodle CPS.

NOTE:  The instructor of record is the only one allowed to post mid-term and final grades to the mainframe.
