Moodle 3: How & When Courses are Created?

Moodle Teaching Courses are automatically created each semester. Courses are created according to the schedule of classes on the LSU Mainframe for that semester. One course will be created for each course that an instructor is registered to teach. If an instructor will have multiple sections of a class, the different sections will be represented as groups within a single Moodle Teaching Course.

Courses will be created and will appear in the Moodle course system 30 days before the starting date of each semester. For instance, the LSU Fall 2012 semester begins on August 20, 2012. Therefore, all teaching courses were created and added to the Moodle course system on July 22, 2012.

If you are still not seeing your Moodle Teaching course, contact your department to make sure you are listed at the primary instructor or Instructor of Record for that course according to the LSU Mainframe listing. If you are listed at the primary instructor or Instructor of Record, and you still cannot see your course, please call the Faculty Technology Center at 578-3375, option 2 or contact by email at FTC@LSU.EDU.
