Windows 8.1: Updating Microsoft Automatic Updates

To Check to See if Automatic Updates are Enabled for Windows 8.1:

1. Open the Run window by holding Windows Key + R in your Keyboard. It will appear at the left hand side of your screen.

2. Type Control Panel in the Open section.

3. Click OK in the bottom middle of the window.

4. In Category view:

A. In the middle of the screen, click on System and Security.

B. Click on Turn automatic updating on or off which is located in the middle of the window.

5. In Classic (Small or Large icons) view:

A. Click on Windows Update at the bottom left corner of the window.

B. Click on Change settings at the left sidebar.

6. Windows will now regularly check for important updates and install them on the computer.
