Careers2Geaux: Uploading Writing Samples


Employers often ask students pursuing a career in journalism to upload their writing samples. Writing samples allow employers to evaluate both the literary and written communication skills of a job candidate through a direct example. This article will teach LSU students, especially English majors, how to upload a writing sample to Careers2Geaux, LSU's featured job search website.

To Upload Writing Samples:

1. Log into your MyLSU account. On the left panel, under Student Services, click Careers2Geaux.

2. The Careers2Geaux web site will open in a new tab. Type in your User Name / email address and Password, then click the sign in button beneath the text windows.

3. Once you have logged into your Careers2Geaux Account, select the Documents tab on the left-hand side of the screen, and select Approved from the dropdown menu.

4. Selec the Career Outcomes tab and click the Add New button.

5. Click the Choose File button to locate and upload your desired document, enter a label for the document, and click Submit.

6. In the Pending Documents page, your uploaded documents will be displayed.
