Mac OS X Snow Leopard: Security File Vault

General Information

FileVault encrypts your entire home folder, better protecting it from hackers. 

** Important Note: If you forget the password, the information will be lost.
 

Creating and Using FileVault:

1. In System Preferences, select Security.

2.  Select the FieVault tab.

3. Create a Master Password for your computer by clicking the Set Master Password... button.

3. Select Turn On FileVault.

4. Type the password.

5. Select Turn On FileVault, and the encryption will begin.
