iPhone 3GS: Airplane Mode
Archived Historical Data: Not Actively Maintained.
[Return to iPhone 3GS: LSU Overview]
The airplane mode on your iPhone disables all the wireless capabilities (i.e. phone calls, internet access, Bluetooth devices, etc.) , preventing your phone emitting signals that could interfere with pilot radio communications. Non-wireless features such as the iPod or app games will not be affected, and therefore the airplane mode function allows you use to use these features without completely powering off your cell phone during flight.
When airplane mode is enabled, the airplane icon
will appear in the top left corner where cell signal is usually displayed.
