TigerBytes II, the new secure document management server available to LSU students and faculty, allows users to easily share files and folders with other TigerBytes II users. Windows Explorer is able to take advantage of this feature and make TigerBytes II folders accessible, without having to log in to the TigerBytes II client in an Internet browser window.

NOTE: This guide demonstrates how to access TigerBytes II folders in Windows Vista only. However, similar procedures are possible in Windows XP and Macintosh OS X. Also, as is always true when using TigerBytes II, this ONLY allows users to view files and folders they have access permissions for.
To access TigerBytes II files in Vista using Windows Explorer:
1. Open the Start menu, and select Computer.

2. In the toolbar near the top of the Computer window, click Map network drive. Windows will open the Map Network Drive window.

3. Click 'Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures.

4. The Welcome to the Add Network Location Wizard will pop up. Click Next.

5. Click Choose a custom network location and click Next.

6. Type in the following address: https://tigerbytes2.lsu.edu/users/yourusername and click Next.

7. Windows will now ask you for a User name and Password. In the User name field, enter your TigerBytes II user name (which is the same as your PAWS ID), and in the Password field, enter your TigerBytes II password (which is the same as your PAWS account password). After entering the information, click OK.

8. Type a name for the network location and click Next.

9. You have now successfully created a network location for TigerBytes II. Click Finish!
NOTE: To access the folder again, click Computer in the Start menu. The TigerBytes II folder will be listed under the Network Location heading.
