Your Web browser's security is the computer's first line of defence from hackers, viruses, and protection of your privacy. To change your security settings on Firefox:
1. Access Firefox
2. Select Tools from the toolbar
3. Click Options at the bottom of the scroll list
4. Select the Security tab

Note: Above is a prime example of security measures taken.
5. To select an option you must make sure you have placed a checkmark next to it
6. If you click any of the exception buttons, whatever Web site you type in will not be affected by the security option you allow
Another part of security is your privacy
1. Select the Privacy tab

Privacy is your personal information. The privacy options allow/deny what information Web sites can get from you. A lot of privacy options do effect how easy it is for you to surf the Web.
1. The longer you keep history the easier it is for the browser to recognize the site that you are trying to enter.
2. Cookies are a controversial item. Web sites send them to your computer so that it can recognize your computer. The problem is that they also track where your browser goes and collects information about your preferences in sites. Cookies can also be hacked into (stolen) by a third party, allowing them to get sensitive information from your computer.
3. Your private data includes your cookies, history, cache, and saved passwords. To delete any and all of these options click the Clear Now button
