Today computer chips are made with multiple processor cores that increases performance while consuming less power. Grand Central Dispatch technology is incorporated within Snow Leopard and takes complete advantage of multicore processors. It will enable developers to generate programs that will extract all of the available power out of multicore systems making programs run more efficiently. All types of different Mac applications will benefit from Grand Central Dispatch, and your Mac will become more adept at managing many tasks at once.
