To upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard, follow these steps:

1. Put in the Mac OS X installation disc.

2. When the Install Mac OS X icon appear, double-click on it.

3. Next you will have to select a disk. Select your current Mac OS X disk.

4. If you would like to select or deselect optional software, click Customize. You have the option to customize some of the software that will be installed, like printer drivers, fonts, and language translations.   that will be installed like printer drivers, fonts, and language translations. If you would like to select or deselect optional software, you need to click Customize. In the Custom Install box, select the software you want to install. Click OK.
Note: If you get a message stating that you do not have enough disk space on your Mac to install Mac OS X, you can deselect items to save space.

5. Click Install. Click Install again in the message that appears. Enter your administrator password when you are prompted to do so.
